It started out wonderful
Then the sheen wore away
Now we can't even sleep
Or eat without a fray

Danger when moving fast
A serotonin well
You assume it will last
Until you find your hell

When we say that it's all lost
We gotta find out what we want
I've got his false belief
That apathy will protect me

The loving scars of the past
They still taint my head
Conclusions run amok
No facts to base the threat

I tried to burn it all
Some must have surely stayed
To down in alcohol this is the price I've paid

I stayed aboard too long
