(Beethoven se dirige a Destino e diz a ela: "Eu não precisava dessa infância. Eu não precisava que minha mãe morresse quando eu tinha cinco anos. Eu não precisava de um pai alcólatra ou de um professor sádico. Eu não precisava de tanta dor quando criança. Isto! Remova tudo isto de minha vida."
[beethoven turns to fate and tells her, "i did not need this childhood. i did not need my mother to die when i was five. i did not need an alcoholic father or this sadistic teacher. i did not need such pain as a child. this! remove all of this from my life."]

Destino diz a ele que será como ele deseja, mas, antes de atender ao pedido, ela o adverte que quando a dor de sua infância for removida, Beethoven também perderá a inspiração que o levará a compor a sexta sinfonia. Quando posto cara a cara com esta escolha, Beethoven percebe que não está disposto a perder a sexta sinfonia e volta atrás.
[fate tells him that it will all be as he wishes but before she grants his request he should be aware that when she removes the pains of his childhood he will also lose the inspiration that led to the sixth symphony. when faced with this choice, beethoven realizes that he is not willing to lose the sixth symphony and withdraws his request.]

Destino indaga então: "Certamente existiram momentos felizes, momentos mágico?
[fate then says, "surely there were happy times, magical moments?"]

Beethoven responde: "Houveram alguns."
[beethoven replies, "there were some."]

"Como a primeira vez que você foi a Viena?"
["like the first time you arrived in vienna?"]

["like the first time i arrived in vienna."]

Em segundos eles testemunham uma rapsódia, Beethoven é um jovem homem vendo Viena pela primeira vez.)
[within seconds they are there witnessing a rhapsodizing beethoven as a young man seeing vienna for the first time.]
