In the Past (Hebrews 6:9-20) (parts I & II)
Though we speak in this way
I believe that better things will come
If you hold on
For you have shown yourself faithful in the past
And I know that faith will last
O, don't you let go of the promise of God
He's never going to let you down

O, if you just hold on to His word
If you hold on and endure
There's hope
When God made a promise to Abraham
He couldn't swear by anyone less than him
So he swore by himself, what else could he do
To show that his promises would come true
And the same applies to the present time
His word's still true, for He cannot lie
So he sealed His oath with two unmoving lines
From a distant Psalm from a distant time
We have a sure anchor of the soul

Behind the curtain that separates

And there's no more fear
Draw near to God through Christ

Ele não poderia jurar por ninguém menos do que ele
Então ele jurou por si mesmo, o que mais ele poderia fazer
Para mostrar que suas promessas se tornariam realidade
E o mesmo se aplica à atualidade
Sua palavra ainda é verdadeira, pois Ele não pode mentir
Então ele selou Seu juramento com duas linhas imóveis
De um Salmo distante de um tempo distante
Temos uma âncora segura da alma
