There’s no light here
My hands are raised though my shoulders ache and shudder beneath the weight
This silence ringing in my ears, deafening like the lull of a final breath
Drowning out Your voice
I can’t feel You here
I am not enough, mere dust of earth and breath of God

I can feel this body dying all around me
This soul is wearing thin, but still You radiate
You show me rest in this vessel, broken and weary from the strain
Wash me over, wash me over

Come oh wind, oh breath of life
Still these waves that seek to drown me
My voice will rise above these looming mountains
These towering pillars of loss and defeat
